GX1000

TROUBLESHOOTING

DASHCAM HAS NO POWER

POSSIBLE CAUSE 1:

Ensure the Power Switch & Lock slider is in the ON position. This is located to the left side of the GX1000 Dash Camera.

POSSIBLE CAUSE 2:

Ensure the Power Cable is firmly in place. Located at the top of the Dash Camera (Now is a good time to also check the Rear Connection cable is also firmly in place).

It is possible for car valeting company’s to knock these cables.

It has also been seen where a customer took their vehicle into a garage for a repair, the garage removed the dash cam as they didn’t want to be recorded. They did not plug the cables back in correctly.

POSSIBLE CAUSE 3:

Depending on how the dash camera was installed:

A: 12v Power Socket (Cigarette Lighter) – Check the 12v Socket is firmly in place. Also check if the 12v Socket is actually working by plugging in another device.

B: OBD-II – Ensure the OBD-II plug adaptor is firmly connected.

C: Hardwire Kit – Ensure the cables for the Permanent live and Ignition feed live are receiving powe respectively.

Also check the earth terminal is secure and is earthed correctly.

If the GX1000 was installed by a third party installer, you may need to call them out to check – however, be mindful, they may have a call-out charge.

It is common to see these issues when using the hardwire method if you have had other work carried out on your vehicle.

Sometimes other people working on your vehicle knock wires, or try and use an existing earth (such as the one used for your Dash Cam).

It is also possible that a fuse has blown. The 2 power cables in the hardwire kit both have an inline glass fuse.

These fuses should be checked along with any other fuses running the power cables such as those in a fuse tap.
